Sa Pa is a town in the Hoàng Liên Son Mountains of northwestern Vietnam, overlooking the terraced rice fields of the Muong Hoa Valley. We spent a day trekking our way through Sa Pa, guided by one of the Hmong people "Ru" and her baby through the tour company "Sapa Sisters". It was a cold morning with a thick blanket of fog, peacefully covering the mountains in what was an eery, muddy and rocky hike. We met local people along the way, stopped through villages and had some lovely lunch and by midday the sun was shining and the rice fields were in view. With or without fog, it was a wonderful experience, a personal challenge and inspiring to see how the Hmong and other tribe people throughout the valley live.
